EULAR PARE Webinar - Pregnancy and Family Planning
Dear friends and colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to join the second Young PARE 2023 webinar on the topic of "Pregnancy and Family Planning”.
There is an increasing focus on topics related to reproductive health and family planning in patients with autoimmune, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD). Both patients, physicians and the broader multidisciplinary team recognize the challenges in communication about reproductive issues. You can get more information from rheumatologists specialising in the topic and listen to two personal stories.
Dr. Laura Andreoli and Dr. Karen Schreiber are co-leaders of the EULAR Study Group on Reproductive Health and Family Planning. Dr. Andreoli is a rheumatologist, and since 2006 she has been working in the Pregnancy Clinic in Brescia (joined team of rheumatologists, gynecologists, neonatologists), which is dedicated to the management of pregnancy in patients with inflammatory arthritis and systemic autoimmune diseases, and to the study of predictors of outcome and implications of the use of anti-rheumatic drugs (conventional and biologic) in pregnant patients.
Dr. Karen Schreiber’s main clinical and research focus is on improving reproductive health care for patients with rheumatic diseases. Her main passion is the pathophysiology and treatment of thrombotic and obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Karen is managing the only interventional trial of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in pregnant women with antiphospholipid antibodies to answer the question whether HCQ improves pregnancy outcomes in these women.
Sara Badreh is a Young PARE alumna and member of the EULAR PARE Committee. She is a lupus patient herself and was diagnosed at the age of 16 and is very passionate about patient advocacy and how to best link the patient needs with the scientific perspective. Sara gave birth to her first son, Elias, in 2022.
Sladana Rumpl Tunjic is Young PARE member, member of EULAR PARE Committee and EULAR Quality of Care Committee. She is a vice president of the Association Remisija since 2017 and dealing with young people with RMDs. Her goal is to raise awareness of children and young people with RMDs, helping them to get biological therapy and to improve life quality.
The webinar will last 60min and takes place on Thursday, 13 April, 19:00 CET.
